red & white border collie puppies for sale

Fearne decided to go into labout on Friday 11th April and I was thinking for once she was going to have her pups during the day. Fearne had other ideas though....... she hung on to her pups until just after 1am when she gave birth to the first wee bundle ............. I sat with her all night while she delivered pup after pup until the last one, puppy number 6, was born just after 7am. I was shattered, but Fearne was totally exhausted, she fed her pups and we both managed to get about an hours sleep before the rest of the household woke up.

Mums pedigree and Dads pedigree

I will place photos and updates on the pups progress over the coming weeks on this page.......so pop back and see how they are all doing, just go down the page to see all the updates

A very very tired Fearne feeding her pups on the
day they were born.

** 19th April the pups are 7 days old now and all growing well and have about doubled in size since they
were born.

** 26th April the pups have opened their eyes ...... will give you an update as to the eye colours soon.

** 27th April the pups are 15 days old and have been out in the sun for a wee while, so I could give the kennel a really good clean. Some new clean straw in the whelping box and the pups all snuggled together to sleep after their big adventure outside.

In these 2 photos you can see that 2 of the bitch pups
have slightly lighter brown coats. The dog pup is at
the front of the photo with his lovely dark brown coat.

Cuddles from mummy

** 28th April pups start their 1st worming treatment

** 29th April pups got their wee sharp claws clipped, they seem to grow really quickly

** 3rd May pups have their first solid meal, this is dry puppy food softened with some puppy milk ...... yum yum!!
The pups soon got in about this, munching and slurping and totally getting themselves covered in their dinner. Fearne was quick to lick them all clean and constantly checking her pups were ok........
I'm starting to jot down names/words in preparation
for applying for their Kennel Club names. This task never
seems to get any easier, but I better get a move on if their
KC Certificates are to arrive in time for the pups going to
their new homes.

The pup sticking her head out of the basket above is
known to us as Teeny. She is the smallest pup of the litter
and you can see the difference in the size of her head to
the dog pups in the photo below. Now they are on solids
Teeny will soon be as big as her brother and sisters.

** 6th May pups are now 24 days old and getting bigger and more active by the day.

** 8th May another beautiful sunny day here in Scotland, the pups have been outside for a wee play and are now sleeping in the kennel in the shade. Silly me forgot to have my camera handy, but I will try and get some more photos later today when they are out again. The pups are trying to get out of the whelping box now by themselves, but they are just not quite big enough, it won't be long though. They have sussed out that the kennel door when opened is a way in and out and they all, even 'Teeny', manage to negotiate the wee step.

** 10th May the pups were outside eating their dinner while I was cleaning the kennel, when we had a thunder and lightening storm. I looked out of the kennel to see if they were alright and they were all still munching their dinner and not in the least bit fazed by the thunder, lightening or the heavy rain. So after dinner they were all dried off and put to bed in some nice new fresh straw. This was the start to a busy week, the pups are getting more mobile and active noo and stay awake for longer inbetween sleeps and feeds. Also 'cause they are eating more solids the Head Poo Lifter (my son) has more of a work load to deal with :-) They also had a raw egg to play with and when it cracked they ate it, even some of the shell which is full of calcium, and good for them.

** 12th May I was woken at 3am this morning with one of the pups greetin (crying), she had got out of the whelping box and out of the kennel all by herself and couldn't get back in again. So I now know that they can get out of the whelping box all by themselves noo. Even Teeny can get oot, she stands on a plastic bottle that they play with and pulls herself out of the box. Oh no!!! theres no stopping them now. I also started the 2nd worming treatment today.

** 13th May I gave the pups a wee treat today................... they had scambled egg and toaast for one of their meals and they thoroughly enjoyed it. They couldn't get the egg eaten fast enough

** 16th May the pups are now 34 days old. We have an new addition to our four legged part of our family, his name is Archie, he is 9 months old and we are fostering him until we can find him a new suitable home. I will tell you more about Archie later. Our next door neighbour came over to play with the pups for a while today.

Teeny sleeping in the sun, she is getting bigger but is
still smaller than the rest of the litter.

I think this is going to be a blue eyed boy!!

** 18th May the pups all had their first raw chicken wing today, they seemed to really enjoy munching on this and it kept them amused and quiet for ages. Fearne must have thought that they had eaten enough as she went round and finished all the chicken wings off.
** 22nd May the pups all went next door to play and have their photos taken, as in my case the grass is greener and shorter on the other side of the fence :-) ......if they were playing on my grass the pups wouldn't be seen in the photos. I must try and find time to cut my grass this weekend.

If you remember me mentioning Archie (16th May) who I am fostering at the moment
you can see him and read his story here

The dog pup has a new home to go to, he will be going to live with his older brother (from last years litter) in Sussex.

The pups all enjoyed pulling my neighbours
plant to bits

Teeny thinks she's the boss

Teeny is growing but she is still smaller
than the other pups

The light coloured bitch is going to lhave a new home
in Edinburgh

** 26th May the pups had quite a big day, they had their first journey in a car and they went to the vets. They were all quite excited at first in the car, but did calm down and were very good on the way home. They were the stars at the vets, everyone was wanting to play with them. The vet said "what big healthy pups" they all were, even Teeny. They all passed their health check and were given their 1st vaccination. The vet said "they might go off their food today and be quiet after the vaccination" .............. well they have just ate their dinner and they are running about chasing Fearne and Archie. They have also found their funny wee barks now, so it can get a bit noisy round here at times...............it's a good job I have good neighbours who love to see the pups growing up.
Today is also the start of the pups 3rd worming treatment and the litter registration is on it's way to the Kennel Club ............ .just got to keep my fingers crossed the KC certificates arrive in time for pups going to their new homes.

more coming soon
