Buzz and Fearne's
Puppies 2009

Fearne
gave birth to 7 lovely pups on 17th May 2009. This is the biggest
litter she has ever had and all the pups and Fearne are doing well.
The first pup was born at 4pm and the last pup arrived at about
8.30pm and there are 3 girls and 4 boys. She is being a very good
mum as usual and is constantly checking on her pups, feeding them
and cleaning them.
I will place
photos and updates on the pups progress over the coming weeks on
this page.......so pop back and see how they are all doing, just
go down the page to see all the updates
Fearne
cleaning the first pup that was born on 17th May. When Fearne
had seen to all her pups she lapped up a bowl of warm sweet
rice pudding. Her post birth treat, much better than the tea
and toast women get at the maternity hospital.
**18th
May, 1 day old pups feeding. Fearne is a bit tired
today, but then so would you be if you'd given birth to
7 pups and fed them during the night.
**25th
May, pups are now 8 days old. The first 2 weeks they
stay in the whelping box as their eyes are still closed, but
they are starting to move around a bit more and get bigger
by the day.
**29th
May,I noticed tonight when I was checking on pups
an giving Fearne her supper that the pups eyes are starting
to open. They should be open tomorrow..........
**30th
May is puppy eyes open day. All the pups eyes are
now open and they are starting to explore their surroundings
a bit more. They are still a bit wobbly on their wee legs,
but they will get stronger and more mobile over the next few
days.
It was one of the hotest days we have had so far this
year and Fearne had been in the garden playing under the
hose to get cooled down a wee bit. She heard her pups
waking and wantin' to be fed so off she went, a quick
shake and straight into her kennel to feed her pups.
Daddy
Buzz still hasn't seen his pups, Fearne won't let him
or Uncle Zak anywhere near the kennel. She totally protects
the pups, she even warns my next door neighbours dogs
to stay away. We have dogs living on both sides of us
and at the end of our garden. Just done a quick count
and I think there is 8 dogs that live in houses very
near us. Our street loves it's dogs!!
When the pups get
out to play (very soon) Buzz and Uncle Zak won't get
peace, so lie there and enjoy yourself the noo Buzz.
**4th
June pups all had their first solid meal, this was
scrambled egg and they all lapped it up and enjoyed it. Fearne
finished off what was left and then cleaned all the pups.
Me being the numpty that I am forgot to take my camera out
with me, so I am sorry there is no video or pics of their
first meal. I will film them at the weekend when I have more
time.
Today was also the start
of the pups first worming treatment.
**6th
June all the pups had their claws clipped today as
they are getting so long and sharp and poor Fearne was getting
scratched when she was feeding her pups. This took quite a while
as they all like to wriggle about and make a noise, then Fearne
keeps coming to check that they are ok and gets her nose in
the way.
As promised here is a short video and some pics of the pups
having a solid meal, todays dinner was dry puppy food soaked
in warm water to soften it a bit and some lamb in jelly mixed
in yum yum :-) Listen to them, what noisy eaters!
Then
Fearne decided she wanted to join in, I think she ate more than
the pups!!! The pup making all the noise had already ate some
dinner and then decided to go for a wee wander about. After
it's wee adventure the pup managed to squeeze in beside the
other pups and ate some more dinner.
I'm
waiting for 30kg of puppy food to be delivered, easier than
going and getting it myself. That should keep the pups fed
for a few of weeks, just hope it comes soon.
Heres a few photos of
the pups eating their dinner
Well that dish of food
didn't last long!
**7th
June one very adventurous pup managed to climb out
of the whelping box this morning at 2.30am ...... OMG what
a noise she made cause she couldn't get back in with her brothers
and sisters. Fearne was trying her best to help her, but then
all the other pups woke up and started to make a noise. So
Fearne was jumping in and out of the box to check on all the
pups by the time I got to them. I put the pup back and all
the pups snuggled together and settled down again. Fearne
had a drink and then got in beside them to keep them warm
and I went back to my cosy bed. I hope this isn't going to
be a regular thing. My neighbours said they never heard a
thing.
Fearne and the pups flitted
(moved house) today, or rather their house moved. The shed
they sleep in is on wheels so I can move it to clean underneath
it. Today we decided to move it over to my neighbours fence
(with their agreement, of course) as their dog is barking
with excitement as he can see the pups. Their dog is one of
my pups from a previous litter and does come over to play
but while Fearne has pups and is puppy protect mode I can't
let him over. Once the pups are a bit bigger, then they will
get to play with their big brother nextdoor.
**8th
June my computer and emails have been playing up
today, I just don't know whats wrong!!!! So to the people
that emailed me yesterday I have emailed you back today, but
I'm really not sure if the emails were sent. I would be grateful
if you're reading this if you could let me know if you did
or didn't receive an answer to your email.
Well 10kg of puppy food
arrived today so that will keep us going for a wee while the
other 20kg is to follow. Pups are all feeding and growing
well and were out in the sun for a while today, when they
all start making a noise they sound like a flock of seagulls.
I've got a lot to do so I will add more photos tomorrow and
I will try ang get a bit of video of them playing as a few
have now discovered they have a wee bark.
**10th
June while I was starting to clean the kennel the
greedy pups who had just been fed all latched on to Fearne
for some milk. Even though they are doing really well with
eating their solid food they still try and latch onto Fearne.
When Fearne thinks they've had enough she just walks away
and the pups all fall in a heap.
Once
they had finished feeding and had ran around for a while they
all settled down in the wee dog basket (they all won't fit
it that soon)in the sun while I carried on with cleaning the
kennel
"Is everyone squeezed
in noo? Lets get some
serious sleeping done here!"
**11th
June the 3 bitches had their first adventure in the
house, they were not too sure at first, but soon started running
around my living room. Now the pups are more livelier it starts
to get difficult to get a good photo of them as they never seem
to stay still long enough
**12th
June the dog pup on the right was born with a wee birth
defect, his front left paw was not fully developed. It is hardly
noticable. He must have been so tightly packed in with the other
pups in the womb that this has just stunted the growth of his
paw. He has toes but they are not as big as his other paws and
he only has one claw on this paw. This is the first time I have
had anything like this happen to one my pups. It does not affect
the way he walks as he runs about with the other pups. He is
an adorable and mischeivous pup and it looks like he will be
staying with us, as we have all fallen in love with him. We
have nicknamed him Stumpy ....... I know that is not very "politicallly
correct" and we don't want him to grow up with a complex
so we will have to get our thinking caps on and decide on a
name for him.
**15th
June the other 20kg of puppy food arrived today. I
am feeding the pups Wagg
Complete Puppy Food and this year I have bought it from
Chemist Direct as they have free delivery on orders over
£40 and I treated myself to a new bottle of perfume too,
to cover up the doggy smells LOL.The pups also like a wee bit
of dog meat mixed into the puppy food sometimes and scambled
egg.
Fearne is still in puppy protect mode, but she is not on full
alert anymore. The pups are getting quite adventurous and have
started to go near Buzz and Zak. Buzz is very laid back about
the pups, whereas Zak doesn't want them near him, he has been
on the receiving end when Fearne has "gone off on one",
so he lets out a whispering wee growl that sends the pups running.
**17th
June I was woken this morning at 12.45am by the pups
wanting to be fed and then again at 3am, so I went to work this
morning like a zombie. I only work part-time (thank goodness)
and there is always someone at home to keep an eye on the pups.
Note to self "will have to make last feed at night later".
I started the pups 2nd worming treatment. When I worm the pups
I have to worm all my dogs to make sure none of them have worms
that could be passed on. I have always used Panacur
10% and go through quite a few bottles when I have pups
and dogs to worm.
**18th
June fed the pups their last feed last night at 10pm
and that was them till 4am this morning. Well that was a bit
better than yesterday. The video below is the pups playing after
being fed at 4am
**19th
June gave the pups their last feed at 10.30 last night
and they slept till 6am today, thats a lot better, I don't mind
getting up at that time. LOL
As the pups grow and eat more then of course there is more that
comes out the other end of them, in another word POO!! They
are all getting good at not pooing and peeing in the kennel
now, which is great, but it can seem like a losing battle outside
the kennel on the slabs. When they wake up the come out the
kennel, stretch, pee, eat, poo and play. So I am constantly
having to scoop the poop and hose down the slabs to keep them
clean. At least once a week the slabs are cleaned with the power
washer. The pups are all quite used to the hose now. Buzz and
Fearne love water and like to get hosed down on hot days.
This year I had a wee brainwave and lined the floor of the kennel
with groundsheets that I bought from the local Pound Shop, this
has made cleaning the kennel floor a lot easier, as I can mop
it and if need be lift sheets out and hose them down. I know
it won't be long and the pups will start to play with the corners
and then they will get chewed, but it has made cleaning easier
and they only cost me £2.
**20th
June up at 6am again this morning. I had planned to
let pups play on grass today and get photos and videos taken,
but everytime I go to do it, it starts raining. I will try again
tomorrow as I need someone to help watch the pups while I take
photos. It's not easy keeping your eyes on 7 pups exploring
and playing and take photos.
Like every year I am struggling to come up with names for the
pups for their Kennel Club registration. I am going to have
to get this done as soon as posible. Is it just me or do other
breeders find it hard to think of names?
**23rd
June the pups are getting good at waking around 6am
in the mornings now. Well they hae managed to much their way
through 10kg of Wagg Puppy Complete and they are well into the
next 10kg bag. I think I might have to order some more soon
or there won't be enough to keep them going. I have also been
buying meat Chubb (this is like a thick meat paste)from Asda
and mixing a small amount of this with the dry food and the
pups love it.
The pups had finished their dinner today and then one of them
decided to lay in the dish, while the others all ran around
and had wee toy fights.
Lying in the dinner dish
Fearne checkin' everyone is ok
totally worn out and sleeping
in the sun
"Stumpy" still
not got another name yet !!
You can see his wee paw better in this photo
**26th
June the pups have found the corners of the groundsheet
in the kennel, they have started to have a wee chew and keep
trying to pull it out.
The pups were on the grass playing for a while, as I was by
myself I could only keep 2 of them on the grass to take a
wee bit of video ..... I know my grass needs cut, but just
don't have the time the noo!.... Amazingly non of the pups
fell in the pond, but there is always another day for that
first swimming lesson.
I'm really getting into this videoing and Youtube and have
been playing around with Movie Maker. So here is my first
Movie. Enjoy :-) you're welcome to supply your own popcorn
:-)
Phoned
the vet
today and he is coming out on Monday to check the pups and
give them their first vaccination. The receptionist was
a bit dissapointed that she wouldn't see the pups. Even
though it costs more for the vet to home visit it is worth
it, it is far easier than taking 7 wriggly excited pups
in the car and I need 2 helpers.
Just like every year I am struggling with KC
names, but they are coming to me slowly. I am forever jotting
down words that come into my head that could be used. This
year the KC have made it possible to register litters online,
this should make it a wee bit easier for me! Usually I print
off the litter registration form and fill it in by hand,
I make so many mistakes that I have to print off loads of
forms and keep having to fill out all the info that is required.
**27th
June we had a family come and view the pups today
and they have reserved one of the boys, so that is one
lucky wee pup going to a new home very soon.
The pups were taken aback when a young blackbird came
down to finsh off the puppy food. the blackbird soon flew
off when the pups decided to be brave enough to investigate.
When Fearne was fed her raw chicken wings in the evening
the pups were right in there...... I think they all managed
to steal one off their mum and Fearne being Fearne let
them and went off and ate the puppies dinner. The pups
all managed to munch quite a bit off the chicken wings,
but Fearne finished them off.
The chicken wing theives
There is a chicken wing in
there somewhere!
**28th
June was a hot day and the pups just lay about
most of the time in the shade and slept. They then decided
that during the cooler night it was time to play, so my
son was up at 12.45am with them and then I was up at 3.30am.
I hope they are not going to make a habit of this. Today
was also the start of the pups 3rd worming treatment and
the young blackbird has been back looking for a feed.
**29th
June the vet
came today and all the pups passed their vet check and have
had their 1st vaccination. The vet was pleased with my big
healthy pups and that Fearne (mum) was looking good even
though she has 7 pups to look after. He said he was very
impressed with the setup that I have for my dogs and pups,
which I was pleased about.
The vet also said that he didn't think "stumpy's"
(I now I'm still calling him that and I shouldn't!!) paw
was anything to worry about and that he couldn't see it
causing him any trouble in the future. He explained that
like our fingers have 3 bones a dogs toes have 3 bones (phalanges)
too, in "stumpy's" toes only 2 bones have developed
but he could feel the nail bed and there are 2 claws starting
to come through. "Stumpy" like all our pups will
always have a home with us, but if there is someone who
wants to give him a home we might consider selling him,
but at a reduced price. You could say he is a "quality
second", he will make a perfect pet as we can already
see he is so like his dad, but he could never win Crufts.
Anyone coming to view the pups can be introduced to "stumpy",
just ask.
It was another very very hot day so the pups spent most
of their time sleeping in the shade.
**30th
June I slept in and was late for work today, but
I am so lucky I have a very understanding dog loving boss.
I was totally shattered last night so went to bed leaving
hubby and son to do last feed and put pups and Fearne in
kennel. Pups woke me at 4am wanting to play, they had slept
too long during the afternoon heat yesterday. I fed, played
and settled them and thought "it's 5am I could get
another hour and 30 mins sleep"................. BIG
MISTAKE!!! .... I should of just stayed up .....I woke with
45 mins to get myself ready, let all the dogs out, feed
the pups, put the dustbin out (which my good neighbour did),
wash the slabs and walk to work ........ then I got a wee
surprise when I opened my living room door, what did I find?
Fearne and 7 pups snuggled up on the floor! I had opened
the french doors when the vet was in yesterday, hubby didn't
lock them (or maybe I should of) Fearne had opened them...........OMG!!
we could have ben burgled if anyone was daft enough to try
with 3 dogs about and 7 pups wanting to play....... anyway
no damage done, they all seemed to know it wasn't the right
time to be there and ran outside. I quickly made them scrambled
egg and they had that for breakfast mixed in with their
puppy food.
It was another very hot afternoon, but I tried to keep pups
awake and occupied in the shade (please let me sleep tonight).
My neighbour Janice and her family came over this evening
to play with the pups, both her sons have pups from previous
litters and the pups get to meet their older brothers, Jake
and Randy.
The pups are all making wee barking sounds, but everytime
I try to capture them on video they all go quiet and come
running to me to play. I will try to get some film of them
barking as they can be so funny.
**1st
July another very hot day and a day full of visitors.
Firstly my mum came for lunch and she always brings a wee
treat for Buzz, Zak and Fearne. She also loves to have a
play with and cuddle the pups. Then my oldest son arrived
with his partner and my 1 year old grandson. So the pups
got even more attention.
Later in the
afternoon a family came to view the pups, the 2 little girls
just couldn't decide which pup they liked the best and the
pups got even more cuddles and playing around. They finally
decided on a pup ......... so Stumpy has some big news ............
he is going to live in Bo'ness. He will be very happy, but
we will miss him as we have all been getting a little too
attached to him.
Then we had even more visitors, my boss, her son, her daughter
and her 2 children arrived to see my pups. The pups lapped
up all the attention they were getting. We also had a thunder
storm which didn't seem to bother the pups at all, it was
great as it made the air cooler.
**2nd
July I think today is even hotter. Pups were good
and slept all night and woke at 6am this morning. They all
tried to steal Fearnes chicken wings again, but she wasn't
letting that happen today. I have been trying to get one
of those sheashell paddling pool/sandpit things that are
for toddlers, thought I could put water in it for the pups
to play in and cool off. Just can't get one anywhere they
are all sold out. So this afternoon I rigged the hose up
and put it on a fine mist and the pups enjoyed playing under
it for a while. It must horrible having to wear a fur coat
in this heat!
Too
hot to play, sleeping in the shade
Having a nice cool drink
Sleeping in the food
dish again!
Playing under the spray
**3rd
July we had another family come to view the pups
and they have reserved one of the dog pups. This pup will
be staying with us a wee bit longer as the family are going
on holiday and they didn't think it would be far on the
pup to take it at 8 weeks old and then have to leave it
with someone while they were on holiday. So the best thing
is for the pup to stay with us until they return from their
holiday. This lucky pup will get to sleep in the house when
all the pups are way to their new homes and we will start
house training him.
Ordered another 20kg of puppy food, they will soonhave managed
to munch trough 30kg that I had already bought. Plus I like
to give the new owners a coule of days worth of food when
they take their pups home.
**4th
July 2 families came today to view the pups and
a bitch and the last dog pup have been reserved. Just 2
bitches left to find homes for now.
Everyone who comes to view the pups asks to meet Stumpy,
he is turning into such a wee star and everyone falls in
love with him. I think I might have a lump in my throat
when he goes to his new home on Friday, I better keep the
tissues handy.
The pups have definately found the corners of the groundsheet
that lines the kennel floor. They managed to pull it right
out of the kennel today.
**6th
July the family who reserved the last dog pup on
Saturday asked me to send them some photos, as their pup
must be camera shy as he doesn't seem to appear in many
photos on the blog. I sent them the photos, but thought
I would share a few of them here too.
The photo above shows
the pups coat colour
better than the photo taken outside.
A big thank-you
to all the people who have emailed me to say they enjoy the
puppy blog and to those that have left comments in the guestbook
too.
I started to do the puppy blog as the pups change and grow
so quickly and I never knew what my dogs first weeks were
like. When Fearne had her first litter I was totally amazed
and still am with every litter. Every year I fall in love
with all the pups and we all have so much fun with them. It's
sad to see them go, but I'm pleased for the new owners because
I can remember the excitement of getting a new puppy. I get
to have new puppies every year, even if it is only for 8 weeks
and I just want to share the puppies first 8 weeks with anyone
whos interested.
**8th
July the weather is a lot cooler now and the pups
are laying longer between feeds and sleeps. They are managing
to sleep from 10.30 pm until at least 6am, which is great
'cause I am getting to sleep too.
Fearne thought she would get the pups back for stealing
her chickenwings today. She stole the pups ball and when
she was told to drop it .................. she did! ..............
right in the pond. It was soon fished out and Fearne and
the pups played ball together. I've just thought! none of
the pups have fell into the pond yet, there is usually at
least one pup in a litter that would go for an unexpected
swim ........ Oh well there is still time!
Had to chase up Chemist
Direct today as my order for Puppy Food has not arrived
yet, in fact I found out it has not been dispatched. If
it doesn't arrive by tomorrow afternoon I will have to go
to the pet shop and buy some food as I am getting really
low on food and I can't have hungry pups.
The pups sneaked into my kitchen to play today when I was
washing the slabs and one very adventurous pup thought it
would explore the side of my freezer, well he got stuck
and we had to edge the freezer slightly away from the wall
to make the gap bigger so we could get him out. He was ok,
but I don't think he will squeeze in there again.
Buzz, Zak and Fearne all got their treats off my mum today
when came for her lunch and she played with the pups for
a while. She also took lots of photos of the pups to show
her friends.
The photos below are of the 2 bitches who have still to
find homes..................
Yummy I have found Uncle Zaks bone
Sitting pretty
<---
Caught
I thought my garden was puppy proof, but both bitch pups
managed to squeeze under the fence into my neighbours garden.
Well they do have shorter grass than me!! Maybe find time
to cut mine this weekend
**9th
July the gap under the fence has now been blocked,
so there will be no more squeezing under the fence into
the neighbours garden.
This is the last day and night that all the pups will be
together as 2 go away to their new homes tomorrow. I'm starting
to feel a wee bit sad 'cause I know they will all be away
soon and it will be so quiet here.
Cleaned the kennel out again today a put fresh straw in
the whelping box. The pups all want to play in the kennel
when I'm cleaning it, so I have to put a wee fence across
the door so I can work in peace. As soon as the pups can
get into the kennel they all jump in the box to play in
the fresh straw. They all get in and out of the whelping
box with no bother now, just think only 8 weeks ago they
just lay in there and slept and fed off Fearne. Oh! how
they've grown!
I filmed them today, the film is a bit dark to start with,
but gets lighter towards the end.
The first
pup to go tomorrow is Stumpy, I'm really going to miss him.
I don't want to show any favourtism towards Stumpy but I
couldn't help but make a wee film with him as the star this
evening.
So good
bye Stumpy have a good happy life.
**10th
July Stumpy and one of the other dog pups are off
to their new homes, so it starting to get a bit quieter
here. Fearne is ok, she did look for her 2 pups but has
settled down now. I'm still putting out the same amount
of puppy food and Fearne finishes off what the pups don't
eat.
**11th
July we had 2 viewings today and both families
were wanting a bitch pup. One has been reserved and is getting
collected tomorrow and the other bitch pup has gone to her
new home. She will have a good life as her new owner works
on a farm, so she will go to work with him and he is going
to train her to work the sheep. Also a dog pup went to his
new home too, this was the pup that I was going to keep
while his owners went on holiday, but they had a change
of plan and wanted their pup earlier.
**12th
July the family came to collect the bitch pup today
so that is another one gone to her new home. Just 2 pups
left now :-(
**14th
July another dog pup went off to his new home today
and just when I thought I was only going to have one bitch
pup left we had the Return of Stumpy. Nowthere is nothing wrong with Stumpy he is the perfect
wee pet, but the family who had him had been in touch daily
and realised that now was not the right time to take on
a puppy. I felt so sorry for them as even though they had
only had Stumpy for 4 days they had really fell in love
with him and it was hard for them to bring him back to me.
But bringing him back was the right thing to do. Rebecca
wrote a lovely wee note to me which she put in the bag with
Stumpy's blanket, food and toys which they had bought for
him (new owners will get blanket, book, toys and food)she
also left a message in our website guestbook which I thanked
her for, I quote
"I
am the person who took the beautiful Puppy Stumpy. Unfortunately
we had to return stumpy to debbie with lots of sadness.
Our youngest daughter is a bit of a handful and we thought
she would take to the pup but she didnt.
He is absolutely beautiful with a wonderful nature and if
the timings were different we would have him back in a flash.
For anyone looking to take him on, he is a very lively and
fun boy who needs lots of attention.
It is with great sadness that he is back for re-homing.
Take good care of him.
Rebecca "
So if
anyone is interested in Stumpy please get in touch, if we
do not find him a new home he will of course be staying
with us.
**15th
July the last bitch pup went off to her new home
today so it is just Stumpy left now. Being the last pup
he will get to sleep in the house with Fearne and we will
start training him, until we find him a new home.
Every year when the pups are about 7 weeks old I say "
I'm not going to have pups again" but when they all
start leaving, I say "what am I going to do now? I
miss them, I don't have pups to feed 4 times a day, poops
to lift, slabs to wash 3 times a day, the kennel to clean,
pups to play with, nightmare kennel club names to think
of and the odd broken nights sleep". Everyone says
I should relax..................me relax!! .......No I don't
think so...............I've got a house to decorate, a garden
that is in desperate need of some love and attention, I'm
also getting 6 chickens (fresh eggs yum yum) and I am now
already thinking about next years litter of pups. Buzz is
going into retirement as a stud, so this was his last litter.
Under Kennel Club rules Fearne can only have 2 more litters
(and only 1 a year) so it won't be long till she retires
too. Unlike many breeders (who re-home their dogs once they
can't use them for breeding) my dogs will stay with me for
the rest of their days, they are part of our family and
I couldn't imagine life without them. Maybe next year I
will talk my hubby round to letting me get another bitch,
'cause what am I going to do if I can't have puppies?............
I'll start working on him now and by next year he will think
it was his idea LOL
**16th
July thanks to all the new owners who have emailed
me, it seems that all the pups are settling into their new
homes. Some have sent me photos, which is great and I look
forward to receiving more. In the future as the pups get
older, if the new owners send me photos I will post them
here so everyone can see them (only with owners permission,
of course). The pups are all getting names and so far I
know about, Lennon, Oscar, Ruby, Diesel, I look forward
to hearing what the other pups get called.
I received
an email from Kennel Club, the litter is now registered
and the certificates are in the post on their way to me,
as soon as I receive them I will post them out to the new
owners.
**19th
July another
new name to add to the list, is Twist. Stumpy is still with
us and he now gets to sleep in the kitchen with his mum.
He is being really good and we only have one little puddle
to clear up in the morning if were're not down early enough.
He sleeps on his blanket that Rebecca and Chris bought for
him. He loves to play in the kitchen with his toys and he
follows me around the house and garden. He has even found
out he can squeeze under the kiddie gate at the bottom of
the stairs and sneaked upstairs to explore. I took some
film of Stumpy playing with his mum in the living room last
night, and just realised I have put the wrong date on it,
it should be 18th July 2009 ....... never mind.

July the pups Kennel Club certificates arrrived
today, so I will post them all off to the pups new owners
tomorrow. I am a bit dissapointed with the names that the
Kennel Club has let me have, the 3 bitches names are not
my first choice names and they have taken some words out
of 2 of the names. After all my hard work thinking up what
I thought was really good names, it just seems a bit of
a waste of time. Oh well never mind!!!
Stumpy is still with us and is coming on really well, we
have had 2 nights with no accidents. In the morning the
back door gets opened and all the dogs and Stumpy run out
for a pee.
We have been told that Lennon is now called Cain, which
reminded me that when we first got Fearne we called her
Poppy and then we decided she wasn't a Poppy, it just didn't
suit her. So now all the puppies names are Stumpy (who of
course will get his real name when he goes to his new home),
Cain, Diesel, Oscar, Ruby, Twist and Flo. I love all the
names and they all have their own identity now, because
when they are here we just call them all puppy. Thanks to
all the new owners for emailing me and leaving kind messages
in the guestbook
these are very much appreciated.

July Stumpy fell in the pond, he got a fright and
started doing doggy paddle, but he was soon rescued. He has
been the only pup this year to fall in the pond. We have had
a lot of families interested in giving Stumpy a mew home and
a family came to see him to night. This will be Stumpy's last
night with us, he is going to his new home tomorrow.
I think Fearne and Buzz know
that
Stumpy will be leaving tomorrow.

July Stumpy goes to his new home, we will miss
this lively wee pup who we all fell in love with. He is
going to have a good life with his new family and his new
name is going to be Cork. Fearne will get all our attention
and get spoilt for a while, she deserves to after all her
hard work.
My sadness was softened because I had my new additions to
my family. At long last I have my chickens, my 6 girls arrived
today .................... and no! there is not going to
be a chicken blog LOL, they will get mentioned from time
to time on my blog
....... which has been totally neglected while I've had
the pups to look after and their blog to do. Anyway they
will only get one mention here, so here are my girls
We
have Dora, Iggle Piggle (grandsons named them) Abby (in honour
of the Buckfast monks, named by my sons) and Arora (named
by my daughter). I just need to think of two more names!!!
We also
received some photos today of Ruby, who looks like she is
really settling into her new home.
Well
it's nearly the 27th July, when all the pups will be due
their 2nd vaccination and then their big adventure into
the outside world will really begin. Their 1st walk to the
field/park/shop is not far away and it will most probably
be a very slow walk. Everything out there will be so new
to the pups and some of it quite frightening, but the more
they can experience in the coming weeks the better.
As I have no pups left , I have no pups to blog about now,
so this is more or less the end of the puppy blog. If any
of the new owners send me photos or updates over the months/years
then I will add these here for all to see.
There will be a new
puppy blog next year, when we have another litter

July on the right we have Oscar, his new owners sent
me this photo a few days ago. He is another pup who seems to
be settling in very well with his new family.
Below are 2 photos of
Cork (aka Stumpy), who I'm told is being good and has had
dry nights since he went to live with his new family. He doesn't
look like he is missing us at all and I think all the previous
video attention has gone to his head as he looks like he just
loves to pose for the camera LOL
All the pups will have
had their 2nd vaccination by now and will be venturing out
into the big wide world
